Time for something different, 2.5 hours drive to the East the beautiful Sauerland beckons. Normally we go to this region for some skiing, but this time we decided to enjoy a discarded slate mine underwater. This mine holds many kilometers of corridors. But as we are no cave divers, we were only allowed in the access chamber.

We were just in time as the mine now is closed for visitors during winter. In the mine 150 different species of bats find their refuge.
